What the 2026 research sweep found (tier C — context, not a verdict)
Reported limits: 75 lb max weight
The law’s definition names a weight of no more than 75 lb. The 75 lb line is not a ceiling on legality — it is the boundary between the electric mobility device tier and the personal mobility device tier, both of which are outside "motor vehicle."
- D.C. Code § 50-2201.02 — (6A) electric mobility device, (13) personal mobility device, (11) motor vehicleTier C — secondary source; context only, never supports a verdict
